Alex Lawrence, Swimming Teacher - A Branding Photography Case Study 

On-brand images of a swimming teacher in action.  Case study: 1 hour branding shoot

It's finally time for you to meet Alex Lawrence in this blog, a swimming teacher with her own swim school on the Kent and Surrey borders (based at pools in Godstone, Oxted and Chiddingstone).   This is another shoot from a while ago, but I still wanted to share!  

Alex was having a website designed for her new business, and needed some photos of her, and of her in action actually teaching.  Sensibly due to budget at the start of her business, we went with a shorter one hour session instead of the longer three hours, but that still gave us plenty of time to get lots of photos for Alex to choose from.  It also meant we just used the one location, a private swimming pool in Sevenoaks, rather than a variety of locations, but again that worked fine for what we needed.

We planned to do a few headshots of Alex by the pool, and then mostly for Alex to be teaching whilst I captured what was going on.  We had specific shots planned for during that part though!  And for the children to model for us, we used Alex's two, my three, and Alex's sister in law with her baby, so we covered being able to illustrate different age group classes between us!

Alex had already chosen dark navy for her main brand colour, and then teal and turquoise were added to the website through the pool colours and website colours, all going together very well and suiting the swimming business.  And the water and pool surroundings with it's clear ceiling and sides helped to keep the feel of the photos all light and bright.
